Deloitte today announced the acquisition of 27pilots. Founded in Munich in 2018, 27pilots helps companies partner with and acquire top global startups, as well as gain strategic insights into the startup ecosystem at large. Thanks to its proven suite of venture client services, technology and data solutions, 27pilots will further strengthen Deloitte’s position in the innovation and venture market. The acquisition is effective as of January 1, 2023.
“Startups have become a critical strategic resource for our clients. By combining 27pilots’ strength in building and operating world-class corporate venture client units with our consulting business, we can offer our clients comprehensive innovation services in the B2B market,” says Nicolai Andersen, Managing Partner Consulting at Deloitte. “This acquisition strengthens Deloitte’s corporate venture offering and increases our share in the innovation and venture market,” Andersen added.
“We are very excited about this partnership. It will enable 27pilots to scale its client offering internationally, responding quickly to growing corporate demand for our venture client solutions,” says Gregor Gimmy, founder and CEO of 27pilots and, with the acquisition, also a partner at Deloitte.
“The 27pilots team is excited to leverage Deloitte’s strong global brand and resources to build on our pioneering work in establishing venture clienting as a groundbreaking corporate venturing tool. This will enable us to secure market leadership beyond Germany and the EU, backed by a strong track record with existing clients in nine industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, manufacturing, insurance and retail,” Gimmy adds.
In addition to joining the Deloitte partnership, Gregor Gimmy will continue as CEO of 27pilots to ensure clients continue to receive the same high-quality service they have come to expect. 27pilots will become part of Deloitte Germany, where it will operate under its original brand.
